WHAT IS PEMF?
PEMF, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy uses electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses into the body and/or through damaged tissue. The magnetic signal from each pulse stimulates a repair mechanism on a cellular level by upregulating what is called “heat-shock proteins”. These heat-shock proteins increase the uptake of oxygen and nutrients into your cells. Studies have shown PEMF to be effective in healing soft-tissue wounds, reduce inflammation and pain, and increase overall health and bodily functions while simultaneously creating a cellular detoxification effect. In addition, it has the ability to stimulate ATP production, and as a result, can decrease the amount of time it takes to restore energy levels after exercise.
PEMF has FDA approval for the acceleration of bone repair in complicated fractures, post-surgical spinal fusion and post-operative pain and edema.
PEMF has also been shown to stimulate immune function and increases the mobilization and activation of your own stem cells. These powerful healing and regenerative abilities PEMF provides is why we have incorporated PEMF into our regenerative medicine practice.
The PEMF device we use in our office is from Pulse Centers manufactured here in the United States and is considered to be the most powerful PEMF device on the world market today.
